A study led by PhD student Roy Sadeh, under the supervision of Dr. Ittai Herrmann and Prof. Zvi Peleg from the Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment, in collaboration with researchers from the Volcani Institute, presents an innovative method for identifying wheat varieties with greater drought resilience.
Using drones and machine learning. the researchers identified genetic markers linked to the plant's ability to regulate water under changing climate condition.
The article was published in Computers and Electronics in Agriculture.
