A new Method for Early Detection of disease in Tomatoes

A groundbreaking study by prof. Menachem Moshelion, doctoral student Shai Friedman, Dr. Shai Covo and Prof. Saul Burdman of the Robert H. Smith Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment, published in "Frontiers in Plant Science", presents an innovative method for early detection of disease in plants by measuring transpiration rates.


The method makes it possible to identify infection in tomato plants even before symptoms appear, and offers new tools for research and for improved cultivation techniques.
