A study involving Prof. Ayal Kimhi from the Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment found that extreme heat stress causes up to a 10% reduction in cows' milk production, with effects lasting more than ten days.

Even advanced cooling systems in dairy farms only mitigate up to half of this decline.

The paper was published in Science Advances.
