A research team led by Dr. Tamar Friedlander of the Robert H Smith Faculty of Agriculture and Prof. Ohad Feldheim of the Einstein Institute of Mathematics has developed a new evolutionary-biophysical model that sheds light on the development self-incompatibility in plants, a genetic mechanism that prevents self-fertilization and encourages cross-fertilization.
This study significantly advanced our understanding of biological networks and biodiversity management.
