A new study led by Prof. Zvi Hayouka of the Robert H. Smith Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment offers a promising solution to the problem of antibiotic resistance.
The researchers discovered that random mixtures of antimicrobial peptides significantly reduce the risk of the resistance development in bacteria compered to single peptides.
The findings highlight the potential of this approach in combating antibiotic-resistance bacteria, while maintaining long-term effectiveness.
