Drora Balaga holds a BSc. in plant sciences from HUJI and is a Certified Systems Analyst (CSA), led  the devlopment of software for plant breeding. She received the Kaye Prize for innovative research in 2003 and was presented with the Excellence Award by the Israel Chamber of Information.  Since 2009, Ms. Balaga has been teaching the graduate course “Breeding Information Technology” .
